Scan Trade, one of the major suppliers of sporting goods in Norway and Denmark, has become the biggest factor on the Norwegian market at the wholesale level through the acquisition of Ramo AS, the exclusive importer of Atomic, Nordica, Rollerblade and Scott in the country. The takeover will lift its annual turnover to more than 410 million Norwegian kroner (€50.6m-$67.3m). Founded in 1987, Scan Trade is one of the best licensees of Umbro, covering both the Norwegian and Danish markets. It is also the Norwegian importer of Mizuno and Proline, and it licenses a line of fitness clothing under the brand of S.A.T.S., the major operator of fitness clubs in the Nordic countries.
