Scott Sports and John Struthers, who is said to be the largest wholesale distributor of bicycles and bike parts in Australia and New Zealand, have formed two new joint companies, Sheppard Cycles Australia and Sheppard Cycles New Zealand. Steve Praskevas, who will act as managing director of the two new companies, will also have a shareholding in both firms along with two other investors. Struthers' company, Sheppard Cycles, is already the local distributor of Scott and other bike-related brands including Diamondback, Raleigh, Giro, Haro, Cateye, Muc-Off and Kenda. As previously reported, Scott made a recent investment in the bike sector by taking over Bergamont. It also bought Dolomite and got the European license for Outdoor Research.
