Serena Williams is receiving the Fashion Icon award at the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards presented by Amazon Fashion. The tennis champion is the first athlete to receive this award. Williams, who smashed countless records during her career, is also an entrepreneur, philanthropist and designer. Her lifelong passion for design led her to fashion school, which she attended in between winning Grand Slams. In 2018, she launched her own clothing line, S by Serena, designed to empower people to look and feel their absolute best, and in 2019, she introduced her eponymous jewelry line. Amazon Fashion is the Presenting Partner for the CFDA Fashion Awards. The Awards ceremony and gala dinner will be held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on Nov. 6, 2023.
