Seven, a large Italian supplier of daypacks, has reportedly won the auction organized by Bain & Co. for the acquisition of Invicta, the brand of daypacks, ski gloves and sports clothing that Diadora had acquired many years ago. The deal should be finalized shortly. According to Italian press reports, Invicta raised its revenues to about €32 million last year, thanks to a 30 percent jump in sales of gloves and clothing during the past season. A partnership with MTV probably boosted the turnover. Diadora’s former communication manager, Merco Ferro, became brand manager of Invicta last year. He has been recently replaced in that role by Massimo Garbaccio, former communication director of Benetton SportSystem.
