Shimano and Kryptonite, the creator of the U-lock for bicycles, have signed an agreement for the distribution of Kryptonite bicycle products in a select group of European countries through the sales offices of Shimano Europe. The deal, effective Sept. 1, will cover France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway. Shimano will handle sales, marketing, and customer service for these countries. Through this collaboration, Kryptonite expects to expand its business with independent bicycle dealers throughout Europe, as the deal allows bicycle dealers in key target markets to have easier access to its product and services, the company said.
