Shimano Europe's Nordic division will be handling the sale and distribution of its fishing tackle products for the region as of October 2020. Its team, headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden, will thus be expanded. The Nordic region is the third to receive a plan for the overhaul of Shimano's distribution. The regions of France/Switzerland and Spain/Portugal had their overhaul announced in August. Shimano has been restructuring its network throughout Europe since its break with Rapala VMC Corp. after a 26-year partnership. As we reported in January (SGI Europe – Vol. 30 N°3+4 of Jan. 28, 2019), Rapala will be ending its distribution of the Shimano, G. Loomis and Power Pro brands in France, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal on July 1, 2020, and the distribution of Shimano products in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Greenland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and South Africa on Oct. 1, 2020. Shimano Nordics will now be handling the sales and distribution of tackle as well as cycling products in Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and Norway.
