Shimano has introduced a new shoe, the XC90, designed for off-road riding. It has a lower profile than the M315. Spikes and blocks on the outsole are arranged in an optimal dirt-shedding pattern, and the spikes can be changed to adapt to rocky soil. The shoe uses Shimano's Dynalast technology to reduce braking loss and enhance pedalling efficiency. Shimano has also launched a new line of high-end mountain bike eyewear, the S71X, with a choice of clear, photochromic and polarized lenses. It provides a wider view, higher protection and greater adjustability than previous Shimano products. Its lens adjuster has five fixed angle positions to allow the rider to adapt the glasses to a higher or lower riding position. The nose and temple pads are adjustable, too.
