Shimano Iberia has hired Bruno Prieto to be its country manager in Spain. Prieto was most recently chief executive of Sport Lifestyle, for a little less than a decade, and before then a sales attaché for Campagnolo Ibérica. Earlier still he was a technician – presumably a bike tech, as he was the world cyclo-cross champion in 2015 – and salesman for El Corte Inglés and Scam Astur. According to Shimano Iberia’s chief executive, Eduardo Roldán, Bruno’s experience in cycling will “no doubt contribute to a smooth transition to our distribution model in Spain and Andorra.” Shimano took over the distribution for its fishing segment in the Iberian Peninsula in July. For cycling it will begin in January.
