Silhouette International, known for its high-end eyeglasses, is introducing a new highly functional line of sports eyewear this autumn, simultaneously with the end of its long-standing licensing deal with Adidas, which has moved to the Marcolin Group. Developed and produced internally by the Austrian family-run company, each Evil Eye-branded model can come with individual prescription lenses and fully adjustable frames to match the athlete's chosen sport. Silhouette has used an antiallergenic synthetic, lightweight, durable but flexible PPX material which can be fitted to any head shape and size. The lenses make use of high-end filter technologies made from polycarbonate for optimal visualization, with the highest protection for bikers, climbers and runners from harmful ultraviolet rays. The glasses are already available at retail stores in Germany and Switzerland and are expected to hit Austrian retail partners in mid-November. With a history of 25 years in the sports eyewear sector, the Linz-based company produces its frames and lenses in Austria and the Czech Republic.
