Since January, Skechers has been donating to the Petco Foundation a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every “Bobs for Dogs” or “Bobs for Cats” pair of shoes. So far, these donations have amounted to about $830,000 and helped provide for the adoption of about 155,000 animals, about 86,900 of them from Petco's own stores. The donations have also helped fund the spaying and neutering of 11,000 cats and dogs. The American chain of pet-supply stores has in addition been receiving as much as 25 cents per sale of pet accessories and items of animal-themed casual- and sleepwear. But Petco is not the only animal-related recipient of Skechers' donations. Since 2014, the 17-year-old footwear brand has contributed some $4.23 million to a number of animal-welfare organizations, providing for the rescue of 396,000 cats and dogs.
