Frasers Group has bolstered its board by appointing Sir Jon Thompson, a distinguished former chief executive of the Financial Reporting Council, as a non-executive director. The appointment is aimed at enhancing the company’s execution of its ambitious long-term growth strategy, particularly as it continues to implement its Elevation Strategy. Sir Jon Thompson brings a wealth of experience in corporate governance, reporting, audit, and large-scale project management. His previous roles include chairing HS2, leading HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) as chief executive, and serving as permanent secretary of the Ministry of Defence. At the Financial Reporting Council, he spearheaded significant transformations to improve performance and compliance.

David Daly, the chair of Frasers Group’s board, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointment, stating: “We are delighted to welcome Sir Jon to the board.
