Size?, the UK-based retailer owned by JD Sports Fashion, is releasing a new exclusive sneaker with Adidas Originals for its Archive capsule: the “Beer” Kegler Super. Paying homage to the brewing traditions of Bavaria, the sneaker is an update of the Kegler Super of 1979, which was designed for Kegeln, the German sport of nine-pin bowling. Even at the time, the old Kegler allowed wearers to adjust the cushioning – not with smart tech but with removable pegs at the heel. It also had a reinforced suede toe cap, as bowlers tend to drag the toe of their trailing foot. The leather uppers are royal blue with the classic triple stripe on the side, the Trefoil logo at the heel, suede panels on the toe box and a mudguard. The pegs, located in the midsole, are red, white and blue. The “Beer” Kegler Super will retail at Size? stores for £85 (€98-$111) a pair.
