Skechers has announced a new multi-year partnership deal with Howie Long. The sportscaster and former NFL defence player, who won the Super Bowl with the Oakland Raiders in 1984, will appear in a campaign to promote Skechers men's footwear collections. The first television commercial is scheduled to launch in time for the 2016/17 football season. The spot will lead off a multi-tiered TV, print and digital campaign that will continue through 2018. After retiring in 1993, Long appeared in several movies and worked in broadcasting, where he has been a commentator on the Fox NFL Sunday team since the network debut in 1994. Past Skechers men's campaigns have featured Ringo Starr and sports legends like Sugar Ray Leonard, Joe Montana and others. This year the brand has also unveiled a partnership with Ozzie Smith. The retired American baseball star appeared in a Skechers Relaxed Fit footwear campaign, which was launched on the opening day of the Major League Baseball (MLB) season.
