Skechers Performance, a division of Skechers USA, has been named the Official Running Shoe of the 2016 Ironman European Tour. The brand will be present at 26 of the 43 races in the tour, beginning with the Ironman 70.3 Pays d'Aix event in May. The sponsored races will take place in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, the U.K., Ireland, Spain, France, the Netherlands and Denmark. Skechers will appear in the expo villages and will be featured in marketing events as well as new media and digital extensions. Over the last five years, Skechers Performance has played an increasingly active role in elite running, with athletes such as Meb Keflezighi, the marathoner who recently qualified for his fourth Olympic Games at the 2016 marathon trials. Skechers Performance also sponsors Kara Goucher, the U.S. elite marathoner, as well as European athletes such as Anja Beranek and Nils Frommhold.
