Skechers USA has entered into a new joint venture agreement for Israel with MGS Sport Trading, its current distributor for the region. The joint venture is called Skechers Footwear. Adi Moliov, the previous brand manager of MGS Sport Trading, has been named general manager of Skechers Footwear. MGS Sport Trading has been Skechers' distribution partner in the region for 15 years. Skechers has already experienced building on existing joint ventures in regions as diverse as India, China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Through these joint ventures, Skechers' combined joint venture sales in these markets grew by around 80 percent in the first half of 2016 against the same period last year, said the company, which hopes this new joint venture will have a similarly successful outcome over the next few years.
