Specialized Bicycle Components in the U.S. is voluntarily recalling 12,000 bicycles because it received reports of front forks breaking, posing fall and injury hazards to riders. The recall involves some 2008 and 2009 women's and men's Globe model bicycles manufactured by Kinesis in China. Recalled models include the Globe Elite, Sport, Sport Disc, Centrum Comp, Centrum Elite, City 6, Vienna 3, Vienna 3 Disc, Vienna 4, Vienna Deluxe 3, Vienna Deluxe 4, Vienna Deluxe 5 and Vienna Deluxe 6 bicycles. The brand name “Specialized” can be seen on the lower frame tube and the model name is on various locations on the bicycle frame.
