Speedo has commissioned a report about the benefits of swimming that it hopes will get more people in the water. The study, conducted by Ipsos MORI, looked into the psychological benefits of swimming. It found that, according to 74 percent of the respondents, swimming helps reduce stress and tension, and 68 percent say it helps them feel good about themselves. Seventy percent feel mentally refreshed after swimming. The study talked to swimmers aged 16 to 45 worldwide, ranging from regular, vigorous swimmers to those who hit the water only occasionally.
