Sports Connection, the distributor of Skechers in the Nordic countries, says that its sales grew by more than 125 percent so far this year. The biggest growth took place in Denmark, the distributor's home market, but the other three Nordic countries – Sweden, Norway and Finland – also registered an increase of more than 100 percent. Sports Connection, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in the shoe business, opened seven mono-brand Skechers stores in the past eight months, building up to a network of ten doors in Denmark and Sweden. Its first Skechers store in Finland will open in Helsinki during the first quarter of 2016, and the company is also looking intensely at the Norwegian market. Run by Peter Jørgensen, who has spent 29 years in the shoe industry, Sports Connection has expanded its distribution center in Denmark and hired ten more sales employees to cope with the strong growth of its business.
