Sports-inspired lifestyle fashion is becoming an important component at the fairs in Florence as well as Barcelona, but the competition remains fair. The Bread & Butter show in Barcelona has agreed with the organizers of Pitti Uomo to take place one week later that the Florence fair next year, while running as usual from Wednesday through Friday. This means that B&B will jump back one week in 2009, running on Jan. 21-23 and on July 1-3. As for Pitti Uomo, the show will run from Tuesday through Friday as of next year. At its last session, which closed on Saturday, June 21, Pitti Uomo recorded a slightly lower attendance than one year ago. The number of buyers declined to 20,565 from just over 21,000. While the number of Italian buyers remained stable at 12,738, attendance from abroad fell slightly. Larger delegations from Germany, France and China were offset by smaller contingents from Spain, the Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, the UK, the USA, Japan and some other foreign countries.
