Sprinter, the Spanish sports retail chain partly owned by JD Sports Fashion, has expanded its e-tail page into an e-commerce marketplace, adding some 500 brands and 50,000 products to the catalog. Sprinter will now be hosting the sale of hoverboards and electric skates, for instance. Existing categories, such as cycling, will be expanded, while new categories will cover yoga, Pilates, surfing, kayaking, snowboarding and sports devices, among them wireless headphones, electric muscle stimulators, pedometers and fitness watches. The company's website currently receives about 24 million visits per year, and its 170 points of sale on the Iberian Peninsula offer merchandise from Fila, Adidas, Nike, Puma and Asics, as well as house brands for running, football, fitness and cycling.
