ShopEatSurf reported that former Vans Americas general manager David Tichiaz has taken on the role of president of California-based socks and apparel brand Stance, where he will use his expertise in aligning product and brand to support the company’s growth ambitions. John Wilson, co-founder and CEO of Stance, served as brand president until 2019. He then became CEO after Jeff Kearl ascended to chairman of the board. Since then, the role of president had been vacant. Wilson commented that Tichiaz’s character was a good fit for the Stance culture. Tichiaz spent 17 years at Vans.

Also new joining Stance is Garrett Close as Creative Director. He brings experience from the agency world, most recently as Design Director of Stink Studios, which has worked for Google, Nike, Ray-Ban and Pinterest, among others. Close has also worked at creative agencies Kamp Grizzly and Wieden + Kennedy.
