Starting July 1, Puma will be the technical and licensing partner of RCD Espanyol, the football club from Barcelona that plays in Spain's La Liga. It has been sponsored until now by Li-Ning. Puma will provide playing kits for all the teams associated with the club, including the Espanyol B Reserve team and all youth teams, and will be the club's partner for replica kits, fanwear and other merchandise. Puma's new home and away kits will make their debut on the field in July. The brand will also have the global license for all team-branded footwear, apparel and accessories. The Cat hopes to expand its presence in Spain with this multi-year deal. Heading north to the U.K., Puma has renewed its partnership with the Newcastle United team and signed a deal to work with the Chesterfield FC club, starting in June. The four-year deal will have Puma supplying the team kit, replica kit and training apparel. Puma replaces the Respect brand as the team's supplier.
