Stephan Krug, a 52-year-old German executive with lots of experience in the footwear and sporting goods sectors, has been appointed chief executive of Sabu Schuh & Marketing, a German cooperative of shoe retailers, effective July 1. He will take over from Ralph Hanus, who is moving to Gabor Footwear. Krug is spending the last months as managing director of Highline United Europe, which controls brands such as Ash and French Connection. He worked for Wolverine Europe, Clarks and Timberland before heading up the European operations of Collective Brands' Performance + Lifestyle Group, comprising Saucony, Perry Rop-Sider and Keds.
