Swix Sport is conducting a three-year research project in an effort to make its wax products even more environmentally friendly, without compromising their functionality. The Norwegian company has acknowledged that the fluorine used in some of its products degrades slowly in nature, and though the limits are acceptable, it wants to take the lead in developing greener waxes. The project is set to end in September 2016 at a total cost of 17.4 million Norwegian kroner (€2.14m-$2.95m).
