The Athlete's Foot will return to France, where the banner had a strong presence when it was owned by Rallye. Intersport France plans to make the first trials next year, with a view to setting up a chain of 100 stores in the next three years. The French cooperative is also planning to introduce a click & collect function at its Intersport stores in 2016.

Intersport France has reported an increase in its retail turnover to about €1.6 billion in 2014 from €1,480 million in the prior year. Excluding the stores located in mountain resorts, sales went up by 6 percent, with growth of 4 percent on a same-store basis.

The retail members of the group opened 25 new stores, including five new mountain stores and four Blackstore fashion units. They expanded or relocated 16 others. By year-end, the retail network reached a total of 651 points of sale, with a surface of more than 650,000 square meters, including the first 14 Blackstores. Four more Blackstores are due to be added in 2016.

Manufacture Française du Cycle, the bicyle manufacturing company owned by the group, is expected to produce 370,000 bikes this year, up from 245,000 in 2014. It will reintroduce the Sunn brand on the French market in September.
