The Adidas Group is moving ahead with further integration of its Adidas and Reebok businesses in the United Kingdom. After the decision to close down the former Reebok office in Bolton by the end of this year, the supervision of both the Adidas and Reebok brands in the country is to be placed entirely in the hands of Gil Steyaert. He was formerly in charge of the Adidas brand in Area North, covering the U.K., Ireland and the Benelux countries, and his extended responsibility for Reebok will cover the same region. As in other European countries, Steyaert will have three brand managers reporting into him for the U.K. and Ireland: Kath Smith, former general manager of Reebok UK, will become the brand director for Reebok in the U.K. and Ireland, but she will supervise the Benelux countries as well; Nick Craggs remains brand director for Adidas Performance products; and Jon Tuck will head Adidas Style. Furthermore, Gavin Thomson will be appointed sales director of the Adidas group for the U.K. and Ireland, handling both Adidas and Reebok, although the sales teams on the ground remain entirely separate. Before this, Thomson was sales director for the Adidas brand only.
