The BASE Workshop, a French action sports show whose fourth edition was supposed to take place in Bordeaux on Aug. 26-28, has been canceled, citing financial and market difficulties. Organized by Brotherhood Communications, a French agency specializing in alternative sports and lifestyle, the event was to gather brand professionals and retailers involved in boardsports in a three-day showroom setting. With Eurosima acting as an arbiter, BASE had positioned itself as an urban-oriented fashion show against Glissexpo, which has been more hardware-oriented. Glissexpo is now proposing to BASE's former exhibitors and other innovative brands for boardsports and alternative sports to show at a new 800-square-meter space called the Annex.
