The Canadian Department of National Defense has awarded a contract to Helly Hansen to make an inflatable life preserver for members of the Navy. The Maritime Pouch is worn on a belt so it doesn't hinder the user, and the life preserver can be removed from the pouch and inflated in case of emergency. The first production run should reach 1,800 pouches.
