The Faction Collective, the Swiss company specializing in freeride skis, has reinforced its team with the appointment of Olivier Gouby as global sales director. The appointment was made in May last year and revealed a few days ago as part of another announcement. Gouby was previously European sales manager for Norrøna and global sales manager for Salewa. He is a member of Faction's executive team, which further comprises the chief executive, Alex Hoye, the design director, Tony McWilliam, and the chief financial officer, James Fairbairn. His assignment is to develop the Faction brand worldwide. The short-term targets include North America, the German-speaking countries, Japan and Scandinavia. Gouby is also head of sales worldwide at Full Stack Supply, a brands distribution platform formed by The Faction Collective, which is the licensee of Roxy skis and the agent for the Pull In brand in the Swiss market. Gouby's appointment was publicized as Faction hired Josh Rhea as senior manager for global digital activities and North American marketing. Rhea has previously worked for Powder Magazine, Backcountry.com, Black Diamond and others. He takes up a senior position in Faction's global marketing team but will be working particularly with Rex Wehrman, the North America director. Faction boasts that its products are enjoying strong sell-through in over 400 retail outlets in 35 countries, and that the brand's reputation has been supported by content-focused marketing, such as a webisode series watched more than 3.5 million times.
