The Federation of Sports and Play Association (FSPA), which represents more than 400 companies in different areas of the sporting goods and play industries sectors in the UK, has elected a new chairman of its board of directors, Bruno Broughton, and a new managing director, Jane Montgomery. Both positions had been vacant for a while. Broughton is the chief executive of Britain’s Angling Trade Association and holds various other titles in the fishing tackle trade. Montgomery has been with FSPA for almost four years. As director of membership and external affairs she has successfully recruited many new members, offsetting in part the recent resignation of Pentland Group from the federation and from FESI, the European sporting goods industry federation. David Pomfret, who has also contributed to the turnaround of the FSPA in the last few years, remains as director of operations. He recently became the treasurer of FESI.
