The first edition of SportExpo Azerbaijan will be held from Dec. 4-6, 2012, in Baku, and no longer on Nov. 28-30 as previously announced by the organizers. Supported by the country's Ministry of Youth and Sport, the event aims to invite foreign sports companies in the sportswear and sports equipment sectors to grow their businesses, not only in Azerbaijan but throughout the Caspian region as a whole. It will bring together on a common platform the national sports federations and business organizations operating in local and foreign markets. Azerbaijan's athletes won seven medals at the London Olympics and sport is attracting growing attention and investments in the country. 2012 has been declared the “Year of Sports” in the country, which hosts 18 Olympic complexes and a large number of sports federations and associations.
