The football star David Beckham plans to buy a Major League Soccer franchise in the U.S. when his contract is up in 2011. Currently Beckham is playing for both the Los Angeles Galaxy and A.C. Milan under a sharing deal, possible because of the different schedules between the U.S. league and the season in Europe. A clause in his contract would allow him to buy a MLS team when his playing days are over, with help from the league in finding a financial backer to assist the purchase.
