The German subsidiary of Elan, which also distributes the Spanish Buff brand in the country has taken on the distribution of Alpina, the Slovenian brand of ski boots, for Germany and Austria. Elan will sell only alpine and Nordic ski boots into these two markets, but not Alpina’s collection of outdoor footwear. Before, the Arnold Sports company was in charge; it continues to distribute Rottefella bindings, Movement skis and the 8848 Altitude brand of snow wear. In the meantime, the German operations of Elan have taken over the distribution of the Slovenian ski brand in Austria. Franz Heinrich, the long-time sales director for Austria, has left the company.
