The Hickies shoe lacing system is acquiring a new dimension with the launch of a new series of elastic straps decorated with Swarovski crystals. Intended to fit and adorn any kind of sneakers, they are being made available worldwide in three base colors. Each set of 14 elastic bands, which is sufficient for one pair of shoes, is sold for €60 in Europe and $60 in the U.S.  The innovative Hickies system came out first in the U.S. in 2012 and then in Europe two years later (Shoe Intelligence vol. 16 N° 13+14 of July 21, 2014), without crystals. It's still available in plain colors or with colorful buttons. Each band is 11 centimeters long. It is inserted into the holes where shoe laces are normally located, pulled and fastened with a loop and a button. Once the Hickies are adjusted, the user can slip into the sneaker and the shoes don't have to be tied up again.
