Pool Sci Italia, a consortium that represents ski equipment producers in Italy, has presented its sell-in results for the 2013/14 ski season, based on data supplied by both its member companies and collaboration with non-members. The survey, which has reached its 10th edition, covers the three categories of skis, bindings and boots, and around 90 percent of the market for these categories. Data are both collected and elaborated by Pool Sci Italia. During the last season, the total sell-in revenues before VAT rose by 4.1% to €55,143,032 as compared to the 2012/13 season, due no doubt to more snow.

Pool Sci Italia's members delivered: 182,120 pairs of skis, up by 4.7% from 173,837 during the 2012/13 season; 171,051 pairs of bindings, slightly less than the 171,464 in the previous season; and 188,278 pairs of boots, up by 7.0 % from 175,892 in 2012/13.

For skis and bindings that are sold together with the skis, the data are collected from a group of companies that includes Atomic, Blizzard, Dynastar, Elan, Fischer, Head, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, and V?lkl. For boots, the companies covered by the survey include Atomic, Dal Bello, Lange, Fischer, Head, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, Tecnica.
