The Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has extended his contract with Puma through 2013. It was reported that Bolt was earning about $1.5 million per year prior, and the new deal will be considerably larger than that, but details were not released. The German company believes the deal will be the largest sum ever given to a track and field athlete. Bolt will feature in Puma’s global marketing campaigns, and collaborate with the company to expand the 2010 Bolt Collection of apparel, footwear and accessories launched this year. Puma first signed Bolt to an endorsement contract in 2003 when he was 16.
