The last 11 Super Sport stores that are still operating in France are being sold to Intersport France for possible resale to some of its retail members. Super Sport was one of the biggest independent sporting goods retailers in France, with 50 relatively large stores at key locations, when it was acquired early last year by Vivarte, a big French shoe and apparel retailing group. With 85,000 square meters of retail surface, Super Store was making about €100 million a year. Most of its stores have already been converted to other banners of the group. Some officials of Super Sport are reportedly being kept on board to take care of the sports apparel and footwear ranges within Vivarte’s stores.
