The major Chinese sports brands have issued preliminary figures indicating the market is not slowing down. Anta Sports Products said that sales under its own brand rose at a low-teen rate in the first quarter, while those of other branded products distributed or licensed in China went up by between 65 and 70 percent. Those brands include Fila, Descente, Kolon and Sprandi. At Li-Ning, same-store sales rose at a mid-teen rate in the quarter, wholesale revenues went up at a low-teen rate and e-commerce grew by more than 30 percent. Another Chinese brand, Xtep, said that its total retail sales went up by more than 20 percent, with same-store sales rising by the low teens. China Donxiang reported a mid-single-digit increase for the Kappa brand, with all the growth coming from digital sales.
