The National Basketball Association (NBA) has opened its largest store outside North America. Located at the Intime Mall in Beijing, the store has a floor space of 1,145 square meters. It is operated by Topsports, China's largest retailer of sporting goods and a wholly owned subsidiary of Belle International Holding, which is also China's top women's shoe retailer. A big NBA Logoman draws customers from Wangfujing Avenue, where they pass a graffiti wall inspired by Beijing's culture. On the first floor is a “Nike Hoop Dreams space,” with sections for Nike Basketball and Jordan Brand. (Nike supplies all of the NBA's on-court apparel.) There customers can customize team jerseys with “NBA ME,” an on-site service. The same area offers personalized T-shirts depicting Chinese-opera faces, local food, the skyline and other Beijing-related designs. The second floor has an NBA Hardwood Classics section, with Mitchell & Ness jerseys, vintage NBA apparel, NBA headwear from New Era (NBA Draft caps, team caps, championship caps); a Spalding Ball Wall, with the official NBA game ball and other products; and a children's area called NBA Kids. There is also a Wall of Fame that current and former NBA players can autograph. NBA China was founded in 2008, but its original offices were established in Hong Kong in 1992, before the U.K. yielded possession of the island city to the Chinese government.
