The new Converse x JW Anderson Run Star Hike takes the classic Chuck Taylor upper, binds it to the cushioned Run Star sole and adds a sawtooth tread in two colors. Hand-drawn typography recalls the historical connections between Converse and JW Anderson. The resulting shoe, which will be launched in February, is a clear blend of three distinct elements. The white version of the shoe trades canvas for linen and, next to the logo, reads “1917,” the release year of the original Chuck Taylor silhouette. A forthcoming glitter version will read “2017,” the release year of the Converse x JW Anderson Chuck 70 Glitter.
