The new Olympic House in Lausanne, headquarters of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), will open to the public on Sept. 13-14, in parallel with the 2019 European Heritage Days. Olympic House was inaugurated on June 23. The facility features a statue of Baron Pierre de Coubertin, made by Swiss sculptor Vincent Du Bois, which welcomes visitors at the reception. Videos with highlights of the construction will be shown on giant screens. Olympic House was designed around the four concepts of integration into its local environment, athletes at the heart, peace and unity, with the central staircase representing the five Olympic rings.
