The organizers of the Eurobike fair in Friedrichshafen are looking forward to another record-breaking edition at the end of August, in spite of reports about three prominent companies pulling out of the show. Trek Europe already confirmed early this year that it would not attend Eurobike and that it would be holding its own dealer event in Frankfurt, along the same lines as the events it organizes in the U.S. market. The European version took place a few days ago, drawing retail customers from most of Trek's European markets. The company described it as a success, but added that it was too early to assess the impact, and to decide on a potential return to Eurobike next year. The other two large companies that pulled out are Vittoria and Sun Race-Sturmey Archer, for reasons relating to marketing strategy and stand location. Still, all the major industry players other than Trek have confirmed their attendance, and there is such a waiting list for exhibitors at Eurobike that the fair will be packed again. The organizers expect more than 1,200 exhibitors, up from about 1,070 the previous year.
