The Real Madrid club is said to be renegotiating its sponsorship contract with Adidas, which expires in June 2012, asking to double the annual fee to about €50 million because of the presence on the team of football stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Kakà and Karim Benzema. The negotiations are apparently difficult, however, as Adidas has been reportedly selling fewer Real Madrid jerseys since the departure of David Beckham for the Los Angeles Galaxy team, partly because of the economic crisis in Spain.
