The recently rebranded Macron Stadium, home to English Football League Championship club Bolton Wanderers, was officially inaugurated in a ceremony on Aug. 1, followed by the first official match under the new name, between the Bolton Wanderers and BV Vitesse, on Aug. 4. Bolton is a metropolitan borough in the county of Greater Manchester. The name change is the first for the ground since it opened as the Reebok Stadium in 1997. The naming rights deal between Macron and the Bolton Wanderers, which was announced in April and began on July 1, is set to run for four years, with an option to extend. The Italian technical sportswear maker will also provide the team kits during that time. The new Macron Stadium is a large sports complex that also includes a hotel and several restaurants, as well as various spaces available for fans and families.
