The Roland Garros stadium in Paris hosted a debate on sustainable development in sports events on June 1. Guy Forget, the French former professional tennis player and Davis Cup winner who is now the managing director of the Roland Garros tennis tournament, gave the opening speech. Thibault de Tassigny explained how Du Flocon à la Vague, the French association of which he is the treasurer, uses outdoor and sport activities to raise awareness of environmental issues, with particular attention for water pollution. Quiksilver Foundation is one of the pedagogical partners of the association, along with Surfrider Foundation Europe and other public and private partners. Eric Singler, general manager of BVA France, gave an update on the Nudge tool, which assists brands in encouraging consumers to adopt healthier and more responsible lifestyles. BVA France, which has a special unit dedicated to sports marketing and brands, launched in December 2015 the first open-source Nudge design tool for brands, upon request by the European Brands Association (AIM).
