The Russian market has been identified by Michael Rupp, the new chief executive of Jack Wolfskin, as one of the most promising targets for investment by the German outdoor brand in the coming years. The former Adidas Group executive, who started at Jack Wolfskin a few weeks ago, wants to maintain the company's strong position in the German-speaking countries, as well as driving the brand in the global market. Jack Wolfskin is already working with a partner in St. Petersburg, on a relatively small scale. The brand could take advantage of Rupp's longtime experience with the Adidas group, which has built up a wide market leadership in Russia with mono-brand stores.
