The VTT Technical Research Centre, a research and technology company based in Finland, has developed a new technology that is said to control the thermal, moisture and flow-technical behavior of smart clothing. The technology can calculate whether the wearer needs to be warmed or cooled based on data measured from the person and the environment. Besides its use in sportswear, VTT has suggested that the new technology could also be applied in surgical gowns for patients, who commonly feel cold in addition to pain. VTT is now looking for companies to partner in the development of this technology for the market.
