The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry is moving from Verbier to Lausanne, drawing it closer to the International Olympic Committee and other international institutions. A generous offer made by the city of Lausanne and the Canton de Vaud will allow the association to be based in the House of Sport, where many sports federations and several departments of the IOC will be located as well, near the Olympic Museum. The WFSGI’s current president, Michel Perraudin, notes that it moved from a negative equity of more than half a million Swiss francs to a positive equity of a similar amount during the ten years spent at Verbier under the tenure of its secretary general, André Gorgemans, whose mandate has been extended until the end of 2007.
