Thierry Lavigne, one of the retail members of Sport 2000 France, has taken the place of Frédéric Poux as chairman of the voluntary group following the exit of the Activa Capital investment fund. Poux, who formerly ran a chain of franchised optical retail shops, Alain Afflelou, had been appointed to the post last August after a dispute about the valuation of Activa's majority stake of 53 percent in the group, which was recently resolved. The 475 retail members of Sport 2000 France now own 100 percent of its shares. Their retail sales have been growing steadily in the last few years, outperforming the French market and reaching an estimated level of €610 million in 2018, thanks to organic growth and new store openings. Stéphane Solinski remains as general manager of the group.
