This year’s Bike Motion Benelux, the trade show held Oct. 30 to Nov. 2, brought in record participants, with visitors up by 20 percent to 29,942. Organizers had to expand the location of the show by 6,000 square meters (to 32,500 square meters) as the number of exhibitors rose from 160 last year to 200 this year, with the number of brands going from 400 to 600. Belgium, France, Germany and Italy had particularly strong showings. Racing bikes were most popular among visitors as 82 percent of visitors had one, and 62 percent reported owning a mountain bike. Touring bikes are growing in popularity. Next year’s edition of the show will be Oct. 22-25.
